During the event to present the Frankfurt 2007 programme to the public, which took place at the Centre Cultural Pelaires, Josep Bargalló praised the collaborative efforts of Gabriel Janer Manila as representative of the IEB. Bargalló said, "Catalan representation at Frankfurt would not be the same and would be incomplete without the IEB's contribution". The director of the IRL declared his conviction that "the Catalan programme will be a success", and that "we have a territorial diversity that we did not believe we had. To demonstrate this territorial diversity and the unity of the language will be a success in itself". Furthermore, Bargalló commented that Frankfurt 2007 "is an incredible opportunity, but at the same time it lays an obligation on us with respect to other cultures that are not linked to a Nation-State". Gabriel Janer Manila also started by thanking the director of the IRL, Josep Bargalló, and the curator of the 2007 Frankfurt Project, Anna Soler-Pont, for their willingness to reach out and cooperate. Janer Manila said, "We form part of a global project. We do not wish to emphasise our differences so much as add our own particular contribution".

Gabriel Janer Manila announced that the IEB will issue a catalogue of the books published recently by 21 companies on the islands who publish books in Catalan -which he described as "something of a miracle- as well as a catalogue of living authors. In total there will be 28 writers from the islands participating in the institutional events. Gabriel Janer Manila took the opportunity to announce that he would be leaving his post as president of the Institut d'Estudis Baleàrics.

During the event the curator of the 2007 Frankfurt Project described the main features of the Catalan participation programme.
