Traductora i assagista. Doctora en Teoria de la Literatura i Literatura Comparada. És un exemple de la tradició multilingüe centreeuropea, ja que no solament ha traduït autors de literatura catalana a la llengua eslovena (Cabré, Todó, Moncada, Foix, Calders), sinó que ha publicat importants autors eslovens i serbis en català com Kiš i Pahor, entre d’altres. Ha rebut el Premi Josep Carner de Teoria Literària 2001 per l’obra L’estirp de la solitud (Institut d’Estudis Catalans, 2002) que ressegueix el sentiment tràgic en la narrativa breu del segle XX. En el llibre L’atzar de la lluita (Afers, 2005) ha analitzat el concepte d’Europa Central com un espai que permet descobrir algunes tendències essencials del món contemporani.

Übersetzerin und Sachbuchautorin. Doktorin Literaturtheorie und Komparatistik. Sie ist ein Beispiel für die vielsprachige Tradition Mitteleuropas: Sie übersetzte nicht nur katalanische Autoren ins Slowenische, wie z.B. Cabré, Todó, Moncada, Foix, Calders, sondern veröffentlichte auch wichtige slowenische und serbische Autoren auf Katalanisch wie Kiš und Pahor, unter anderen. Sie wurde mit dem Josep-Carner-Preis für Literatur-Theorie 2001 für das Werk Der Stamm der Einsamkeit (Institut d’Estudis Catalans, 2002) ausgezeichnet, welches das tragische Element in der Kurzgeschichte des 20. Jahrhunderts nachzeichnet. In dem Buch Zufall des Kampfes (Afers, 2005) analysiert sie das Konzept Mitteleuropas als einen Raum, in dem wichtige Tendenzen der aktuellen Weltentwicklung abgelesen werden können.

Translator and essayist. Simona Škrabec has a doctorate in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature. She is an example of the tradition of Central European multilingualism in that she not only has translated authors of the Catalan language to Slovenian (Cabré, Todó, oncada, Foix, Calders), but that she has published important Slovenian and Serbian authors into Catalan, such as Kiš and Pahor, among others. She has received the Josep Carner Prize for Literary Theory 2001 for her work The Liniage of Solitude (Institut d’Estudis Catalans, 2002), which re-examines the sentiment towards the tragic in the 20th-century short story. In the book The Chance of the Fight (Afers, 2005) Škrabec analyzes the concept of Central Europe as a space that allows the discovery of some essential tendencies of the current world.
