Escriptora. Tot i estudiar Magisteri a la Universitat de les Illes Balears, no ha exercit mai de mestra. La seva obra es caracteritza per l’element imaginatiu i, a excepció de la novel·la L’acordionista al fons del llac (Caixa de Balears, 2003), tots els seus llibres estan destinats al públic infantil i juvenil. Amb El mandarí i jo (La Galera, 1992) va obtenir el Premi Guillem Cifre de Colonya. Des de llavors ha continuat publicant i ha rebut, entre altres, el Premi Empar de Lanuza amb Ales de papallona (Ajuntament de Meliana, 1995). Entre els seus darrers títols destaquen La perversa Caputxeta (Bromera, 2003), on ens dibuixa una Caputxeta que potser no és tan innocent com ens havien explicat o el recull d’històries inquietants plenes de fantasmes, Divendres 13 (Bromera, 2003).

Schriftstellerin. Zwar hat sie an der Universität der Balearen Grundschulpädagogik studiert, hat diesen Beruf jedoch nie ausgeübt. Ihre Werke zeichnen sich durch ihre Phantasie aus und richten sich, mit Ausnahme von Der Akkordeonspieler am Grund des Sees (Caixa de Balears, 2003), an ein junges Lesepublikum. Für Der Mandarin und ich (La Galera, 1992) wurde sie mit dem Premi Guillem Cifre de Colonya ausgezeichnet. Seither hat sie weitere Bücher veröffentlicht und zahlreiche Preise erhalten, unter anderem den Premi Empar de Lanuza für Schmetterlingsflügel (Ajuntament de Meliana, 1995). Unter ihren neueren Büchern verdienen der Erzählband Freitag, der 13. (Bromera, 2003) mit beunruhigenden Geistergeschichten und Das perverse Rotkäppchen (Bromera, 2003) besondere Erwähnung, in dem von einem Rotkäppchen berichtet wird, das vielleicht nicht ganz so unschuldig ist, wie man uns immer weismachen wollte.

Writer. Although she studied Teaching at the University of the Balearic Islands, she never went on to be a teacher. Her work is characterized by its imaginative element and, with the exception of her novel The Accordion Player at the Bottom of the Lake (Caixa de Balears, 2003), all of her books are for children and young adults. She won the Guillem Cifre Prize for her book The Mandarin and I and, following that, continued publishing, receiving the Empar de Lanuza Prize for Butterfly Wings (Ajuntament de Meliana, 1995). Among her more recent titles are The Wicked Little Red Riding Hood (Bromera, 2003) - where she depicts the famous fairy tale character as somewhat less innocent than we were led to believe - and Friday the 13th a disquieting collection of ghost-filled stories.
