Poeta i traductor. En un recull de cinquanta poemes, Córrer la taronja, 1979-2001 (Edicions 62 / Empúries, 2002) ha enllestit vint anys de dedicació a la poesia, que ha merescut premis com el Carles Riba amb Vedat (Proa, 1994) o el Miquel de Palol amb La vestidora i el dol (Empúries, 1988). A L’estiu de les paparres o la societat secreta dels poetes (Empúries, 2002) hi ha aplegats part dels seus articles inèdits i publicats. L’any 1999 publica l’assaig Creació del poema (Proa, 1998). Ha traduït autors com W.B. Yeats o Manoel de Barros. Ha estrenat els espectacles Salvatge cor, E descascava a laranja com os dentes i Lleons al jardí (Espill d’Abu Bakr). També és autor de la cantata Flor d’escarabat, amb música de Carles Santos, estrenada el 2007. Al seu darrer llibre, I pelava la taronja amb les dents, retrata els poetes de l’amor, els seus rius, les seves illes i la seva mort.

Dichter und Übersetzer. In dem Gedichtband, Orangenlauf, 1979-2001 (Edicions 62 / Empúries, 2002) fasste er 50 Gedichte aus zwanzig Jahren der Dichtung zusammen, die ihm Preise eingebracht haben wie den Carles-Riba-Preis für Verbot (Proa, 1994) oder den Miquel-de-Palol-Preis für Trauerkleidung (Empúries, 1988). In Der Zeckensommer oder die heimliche Gesellschaft der Dichter (Empúries, 2002) stellte der Autor veröffentlichte und unveröffentlichte Texte zusammen. 1998 entstand der Essay Das Entstehen eines Gedichtes (Proa). Aus seiner Feder stammen Übersetzungen von Autoren wie W.B. Yeats oder Manoel de Barros und Theaterstücke wie Wildes Herz, Dann schälte er die Orange mit den Zähnen und Löwen im Garten (Der Spiegel des Abu Bakr). Für die Kantate Käferblume mit Musik von Carles Santos und uraufgeführt 2007, schuf er das Libretto. Sein letztes Buch Dann schälte er die Orange mit den Zähnen: Ars Amandi handelt von Autoren Herotischer Lyrik, ihren Flüssen, ihren Inseln und ihrem Tod.

Poet and translator. In his collection of fifty poems, Run the Orange: 1979-2001 (Edicions 62 / Empúries, 2002), Albert Roig brought to the public his twenty years of dedication to poetry that has won awards such as the Carles Riba Prize for Preserve (Proa, 1994) and the Miquel de Palol Prize for The Outfitter and the Sorrow (Empúries, 1998). In The Summer of the Pests or the Secret Society of the Poets (Empúries, 2002) he gathers some of his published and unpublished articles. In 1999 he published the essay Creation of the Poem (Proa, 1998). He has translated authors such as W. B. Yeats and Manoel de Barros. He has debuted the shows Savage Heart, And Peeled the Orange with the Teeth and Lions in the Garden (Espill d’Abu Bakr). He is also the author of the cantata Beetle Flower with music by Carles Santos, which debuted in 2007. His latest book, And Peeled the Orange with the Teeth, depicts love poets, their rivers, their islands, and their death.
