Escriptor. És autor de novel·les infantils com Els somnis de l’Aurèlia (2001), L’Aurèlia i el robaombres (2002), Les granotes de la Rita (2002) o L’Andreu i el mirall de les ganyotes (2004), tots editats a Cruïlla, i dins el gènere de narrativa ha publicat Zugzwang (1995) i L’eloqüència del franctirador (1998), a Quaderns Crema. També ha publicat les tres novel·les Cinc nits de febrer (Quaderns Crema, 1998), El silenci dels arbres (Empúries, 2003), on narra el retorn d’un violinista a la seva ciutat, assetjada per la guerra, i que va quedar finalista del Premi Llibreter 2004, i La decisió de Brandes (Empúries, 2006), basada en un fet real: l’espoli d’obres d’art durant el nazisme. Aquesta última novel·la va ser Premi Octavi Pallissa (2005) i va merèixer Premi de la Crítica espanyola 2007.

Schriftsteller. Er ist der Autor von Kinderbüchern wie Aurelias Lächeln (2001), Aurelia und der Schattendieb (2002), Ritas Kröten (2002) oder Andreas und der Grimassenspiegel (2004), alle bei Cruïlla erschienen, und hat an Erzählbänden Zugzwang (1995) und Die Beredsamkeit des Freischützen (1998) bei Quaderns Crema herausgebracht. Auch hat er drei Romane geschrieben: Im Schutz der Nacht (Quaderns Crema, 1998), Das Schweigen der Bäume (Empúries, 2003), in dem er von der Rückkehr eines Violinisten in seine vom Krieg belagerte Stadt erzählt und das 2004 Finalist des katalanischen Buchhändlerpreises war, sowie Brandes Entscheidung (Empúries, 2006), das auf einer wahren Begebenheit beruht: dem Raub von Kunstwerken während des Naziregimes. Dieser bisher letzte Roman war 2005 Octavi-Pallissa-Preisträger und erhielt 2007 den Kritikerpreis.

Writer. Eduard Márquez is the author of novels for infants such as The Dreams of Aurelia (2001), Aurelia and the Shadowrobbers (2002), Rita’s Frogs (2002) and Andreu and the Frowning Mirror (2004), all edited by Cruïlla, and within the narrative genre he has published Zugzwang (1995) and The Eloquence of the Sniper (1988) with Quaderns Crema. He has also published the three novels Five Nights of February (Quaderns Crema, 1998), The Silence of the Trees (Empúries, 2003), in which the story is told of a violinist returning to his city besieged by war and which was a finalist for the Llibreter Prize 2004, and The Decision of Brandes (Empúries, 2006), based on a true story: the plundering of art during the Nazi era. This last novel won the Octavi Pallissa Prize in 2005 and was also awarded the Prize Spanish Critics 2007.
