Professor de Filosofia de la Universitat de Barcelona. Director de l’Institut de Tecnoètica de la Fundació Epson i coordinador del grup de recerca Ètica de la Ciència i la Tecnologia de la Universitat de Barcelona. Té diversos articles publicats en volums col·lectius com “¿Es espacio el ciberespacio?”, dins Tecnología, ética y futuro, (Desclée, 2002); “Técnica y sacrificio en Jan Patocka”, dins L’eredità filosofica di Jan Patocka (Cuen, 2000); o “Ortega y Gasset: la dimension anthropologique de la technique et le diagnostic de l’homme de masse”, dins Les philosophes et la technique (Vrin, 2003). Darrerament ha publicat els assaigs Uno mismo y los otros (Herder, 2004) i El respeto o la mirada atenta (Gedisa, 2005).

Professor für Philosophie an der Universität Barcelona. Leiter des Instituts für Technoethik der Epson-Stiftung und Koordinator der Forschungsgruppe Ethik in Wissenschaft und Technologie der Universität Barcelona. Fachartikel von ihm sind in diversen Büchern erschienen wie “Ist der Cyberspace ein Raum?”, in Technologie, Ethik und Zukunft (Desclée, 2002); “Technik und Opferung bei Jan Patocka”, in Das philosophische Erbe von Jan Patocka (CUEN, 2000); oder Ortega y Gasset: Die anthropologische Dimension der Technik und die Diagnose des “Massenmenschen”, in Philosophie und Technik (Vrin, 2003). Vor kurzem veröffentlichte er die Essays Man selbst und die Anderen (Herder, 2004) und Der Respekt oder der aufmerksame Blick (Gedisa, 2005) .

Esquirol is Director of the Epson Foundation’s Institute of Technoethics and coordinator of the research group “Ethics of Science and Technology” of the University of Barcelona.
