Escriptora i periodista. Treballa a la secció de “Cultura” del diari AVUI. Si a la seva primera novel·la, El dit de l’àngel (Empúries, 1998), parla dels seus avantpassats protestants, a Mirada (Empúries, 2001) fa una crítica àcida contra la dictadura de la imatge. Després de N’estem fins als fogons (Columna, 2003), llibre de receptes i contes escrit amb Jordi van Campen, publica el relat curt La crida del mar/La llamada del mar (Mòbil books, 2002). El 2005 publica Tota la vida (Empúries), novel·la sobre la creació artística basada en la vida de Caspar David Friedrich, on l’escriptora ofereix una visió personal de la vida del pintor romàntic. Darrerament ha tret el recull d’articles sobre la maternitat Sortir de mare (Empúries, 2006).

In ihrem ersten Roman Der Engelsfinger (Empúries, 1998) schrieb sie über ihre protestantischen Vorfahren, Blick (Empúries, 2001) hingegen ist eine scharfe Kritik an der Diktatur des Bildes. Nach der Veröffentlichung von Uns steht’s bis zum Herd (Columna, 2003), einem Koch- und Erzählungsbuch, das sie zusammen mit Jordi van Campen schrieb, kam ein Kurzgeschichtenband mit dem Titel Der Ruf des Meeres (Mòbil books, 2002) heraus. 2005 folgte mit Ein Leben lang (Empúries) ein Roman über die künstlerische Kreativität anhand des Lebens von Caspar David Friedrich, in dem die Autorin ihre persönliche Sicht über das Leben des romantischen Malers zum Ausdruck bringt. Zuletzt hat sie ein Kompendium von Artikeln über das Thema der Mutterschaft veröffentlicht, Ausgehen für Mütter (Empúries, 2006).

Writer and journalist. Ada Castells works for the culture seccion of the newspaper AVUI. In her first novel, The Angel’s Finger (Empúries, 1998) she speaks of her Protestant ancestors, while in Look (Empúries, 2001) she caustically criticizes the dictatorship of the image. After We’ve Had It Up to the Burners (Columna, 2003), book of recipes and short stories written with Jordi van Campen, Castells published the short work The Call of the Sea (Mòbil books, 2002). In 2005 she published All My Life (Empúries), a novel about artistic creation based on the life of Caspar David Friedrich, in which the writer offers a personal vision of the life of the Romantic painter. Lately, she has brought out a collection of articles about motherhood, Emergence (Empúries, 2006).
